Prof. Baoyu Gao
Dr Baoyu Gao is currently a distinguished professor at Shandong University, and a distinguished Taishan Scholar of Shandong Province, China. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Environmental Engineering from Tsinghua University in 1999. From 2001 to 2012, he served as Dean of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Shandong University, P.R.China. Dr. Gao's research has mainly focused on the functional materials, chemicals and technologies for water and wastewater treatment. He has co-authored over 840 peer-reviewed journal papers and more than 90 patents, and has received more than 20 awards from international, national, ministerial and provincial government. He was honored as the Highly-cited Scholar of China by Elsevier in 2014,2015,2016,2017, 2018,2019 and 2020.

Prof. Hamidi Abdul Aziz

Dr. Hamidi Abdul Aziz is a professor in environmental engineering in the School of Civil Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia. Professor Aziz received his PhD in civil engineering (environmental) from University of Strathclyde in 1992. He is currently the Head of the Solid Waste Management Cluster (SWAM), Universiti Sains Malaysia. He has 28 years of teaching and research experiences in the field of environmental engineering, mainly related to solid waste management and landfill technology, water and wastewater treatment, leachate treatment, bioremediation and pollution control. Professor Aziz sits in Malaysia’s National Technical Committee on Solid Waste Management Malaysia since 2007. He was involved in numerous research, consultancy works and industrial testing projects related to solid waste management, water and wastewater treatment, landfill leachate treatment, curriculum design, environmental impact assessment, environmental management planning, pollution control. Professor Aziz has also involved in international projects, especially in Saudi Arabia. From 2011 to 2015, he has also served as a member of the International Advisory Committee of the Center of Excellence in Environmental Science (CEES) in King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He has jointly developed a low-cost horizontal filtration system for the bottom billion community water supply, with a few completed projects since 2012. To date, he has graduated nearly 100 PhD and MSc students and has published over 200 ISI papers and a few books. He has become an editor and sits in editorial board members of a few international journals. Malaysia Academy of Sciences awarded him a Top Research Scientist of Malaysia in 2012.

Dr Amin Mojiri is currently an Assistant Professor in Environmental Engineering, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, Hiroshima University, Japan. His research expertise covers water/wastewater treatment with using different physical, chemical and biological methods.
